When faced with the problem of trying to type in Ojibwe Syllabics, students and staff at Bishop E.Q. Jennings School in Thunder Bay, Ontario found it to be a difficult process. To solve this problem, they decided to create a keyboard layout to allow them to type in Ojiway syllabics with ease. They have now created two keyboard layouts to use on Macs in OSX and most recently for Google Input Tools.
